Ordering opens each month, we then close orders and the process begins, with your Butcher Box arriving about 10 days from the close of orders each month. We are a family-owned farm and to deliver the best quality product instant gratification is not a possibility. However, our beautiful pasture raised meat is definitely worth the wait.

Delivery Methods

We have two types of delivery:

In rural areas (Zone 1), we are establishing collection hubs with like-minded businesses where you can collect your Balala Butcher Box and possibly buy other local items that would complement your meal.

In metro areas (Zone 2), your Butcher Box will be delivered directly to your door via a refrigerated courier company.

Delivery costs are a flat rate base depending on which areas your delivery is been selected for. Delivery costs are below.

Receiving & Storing Your Order

Our produce is perishable and each vacuum package has a best before date on the label. It needs to be refrigerated or placed in the freezer as soon as possible after delivery.

On-farm Butcher Box strive to be Climate Positive and we are very careful of our environmental footprint including our packaging. The insulation inside our cardboard boxes is sustainable, reusable wool (Woolpack) and like our cryovac pouches, they are compostable, straight into your home garden compost. There are many other uses for the wool lining - to find out more at planetprotectorpackaging.com/reuse. This wool insulation and the frozen gel pack included in the box with your order should ensure your order stays fresh and cold if left in a cool, shaded position unopened for some hours. However, we advise that we cannot take responsibility for the box and contents after delivery.

Important

Once your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email and a reminder email of delivery when your order is shipped.

Updates of delivery and expected delivery dates will be conveyed to you by SMS, you will need to respond acknowledging receipt. If you are not able to be at home then you must give instructions for where the delivery person should leave your Butcher Box. The courier cannot give specific delivery times it will be between 7.00am - 6.30 pm on the given date.

For our metro deliveries to your home, it is your responsibility to reply to the reminder SMS. If you have not replied and there are no clear instructions or there is nobody present to receive your Butcher Box it is your responsibility. Please see our Returns and Refund Policy.

Direct2Door delivery is not for everyone and it is best to understand the process up front. Of course our beautiful meat is worth the effort.
